Photos of the Common Duiker by Yvonne van der MeyEven until today I have no clue why this antelope was given the name the Common Duiker. It's certainly not that common, for instance, you don't see it on a daily basis like you do the Impala. And even its appearance isn't that common. One of the most uncommon things about the Duiker is the presence of a dark, tufted crest on the forehead, which is very prominent. Both males and females have a crest. Only the rams have horns, which stand straight up. The other uncommon thing about the Duiker, is its over-stretched body. In comparison to its height, the body looks extremely long. It is also known by other names such as the Bush Duiker, Grimm's
Duiker or Grey Duiker; all these names are used for the same
