Photographs of Waterbirds by Yvonne van der Mey

Plenty of water is not as common in Africa as it is in The Netherlands. One moment, you're driving through the Park and the whole world is dry and grey, and one month later with a bit of rain, you have to be careful not to kill a fish while driving a dirtroad!

Many bird species live in or near the water. And a lot of them migrate in the dry season. Taking photographs of waterbirds demands a lot of patience and a big lens. Since I have both these things, I've managed to capture a lot of different species, but I am aware that this is just a tip of the iceberg.
