Photographs of African Wild Flowers by Yvonne van der MeyWith more than 2200 species of plants, South Africa is truly a heaven for any botanist, and covers more than 10% of the world's biodiversity. You can actually find flowers blooming during any time of the year, but of course there is a huge explosion of brightly coloured blooms in the summertime (October-March). Especially after a good rainfall, you can see the whole environment transform with a few days, from drab-grey to lush-green with every possible colour that you can imagine. I am not a botanist, but I have a deep love of flowers, plants and trees.
I can spend days capturing all the beauty that reveals itself before your
eyes. Hope you that enjoy these photographs that cover just a few of the
species species. Lots of work to be done here.
